Cinnamon-Spiked Blueberry Pear Juice

Hey guys! I am back with another healthy and delicious smoothie! Let’s get right to the point. This smoothie is simply DELICIOUS! I don’t know any other way to explain it.

Story Time:

Well, it was another typical day during my summer break. I just wanted something different and cold. The first thing in my mind was a smoothie and I thought it would fit in perfectly with my new smoothie/juice cleanse that I am doing at the moment. The only fruits that I had a lot were blueberries and pears. I love all types of fruits, but I don’t know which combination of fruits taste best. I came to this website in search for a good smoothie recipe. I found the Cinnamon-Spiked Blueberry Pear Juice recipe on the front page. To be honest, I wasn’t in the mood of a juice because the juicer that I had always made a big mess and it was a pain to clean. Instead, I put all this into my Vitamix blender and made into a smoothie.

Now when I say that this was delicious, I mean DELICIOUS!!! It was so good that I ended up making it 2 times and I planning to make it again tomorrow!

(I lost all the pictures that I took of the fruits and outcome but I will add it tomorrow when I make it again.)

Cinnamon-Spiked Blueberry Pear Smoothie

Hey guys! I know I am a bit late but I have some exciting new for you! I have been experimenting with a lot of different juices and smoothies lately and 95% of them turned out DELICIOUS! I am having so much fun and I can’t wait to share those recipes with you in the future.

I wan to first start off and talk about this YouTuber that I came upon her channel by chance. She only eats fully raw foods and eats about 2,500 calories in the form of fruits, veggies, juices, and smoothies. Okay, I know what you’re thinking, “Fully Raw!?! That’s INSANE!” Well, I have to admit, that I thought the same as well. Personally, I feel that going Fully Raw will be impossible for me, and I don’t want that type of lifestyle. Instead, I decided to incorporate some of the recipes that this YouTuber, FullyRawKristina, into my type of lifestyle. And, I have to say, that it’s been great so far. I’ve been having so much energy lately, my mood has been great and I feel good.

After incorporating juicing and smoothies into my diet for the past 2 weeks, I finally invested in a juicer! I am really excited to try it out. I will write a review on it and let y’all know how awesome or terrible it is. Yes, I all give my honest opinion. In the meantime, checkout FullyRawKristina YouTube Channel and comment below what you think. If there are other healthy videos that you watch please share them! I would love to check those out!

P.S. This is my favorite juice recipe, it was DELICIOUS!

Summer Smoothies!

Hey guys! Good news, I’m on Summer Break!!! YAY! Well actually, my last day was this past Wednesday and now I am officially done with my Spring semester. Since it is getting a bit warmer now, I told myself that a little change is needed, so I decide to go on a smoothie/juice cleanse! Right now, I am starting out when a couple of glasses of either juices or smoothies as snacks, and I am slowly going replace it with my meals.

I will talk about the benefits of the smoothies and juicing cleanses in another post, but first, I want to share with you a smoothie that I am really proud of. This recipe kind of came together depending on the things I had on hand and it was DELICIOUS!

  • half a pear
  • 1 orange
  • a couple of strawberries
  • de-stemmed kale leaves

This smoothie can be made in a Tribest or a Vitamix.

Gather all the ingredients and wash everything.

Peel the orange, de-stem the kale and cute everything in bite sized pieces.

Put everything ing your Tribest or Vitamix. Add a little of water because it will be thick, and add to your desire.

Blend everything together and POOF!

You end up with this delicious sweet and healthy smoothie!

I promise you can’t even tell that the kale is in there. If kale is too strong for you, you can always add spinach instead. I actually had to made this 3 more times in the same day, because my parents and my siblings LOVED it too! It is very refreshing and I hope y’all give it a try! I’ve also been trying out some juices too that I can’t wait to share with you! So there are a lot of great things coming up.  What are some of your favorites ingredients to put in a smoothie?

Vitamix Blender

Hey guys! So, I have something exciting to share with you. Lately, I have been really interested in some vegan raw organic foods. Now don’t get me wrong, there is no way I can become a vegan. However, there are A LOT of delicious and healthy juices and smoothies that I read about. I actually made a juice and a green smoothies yesterday was was so DELICIOUS! If you’re interested I’ll make a separate blog post on those recipes.

Today, I want to share with you one of  my closest friends, if you haven’t guesses it, it’s the VITAMIX! Now I know that many of you would say that this is just a normal blender but that’s the thing, it’s not normal! It’s AMAZING! This is a special blender that has a horse power blender, meaning it can blend almost anything without breaking it! Also, one of the cool features of a Vitamix is that the longer you blend it for it’ll start to heat up. For example, if you want to make soup, such put all of ingredients in the blender and after 5-7 mins of blending it’ll heat up your soup! Isn’t that incredible!

I’ve made so many things in my vitamin blender like, frozen yogurts, smoothies (green and regular), sauces, shakes, and many more. It can also be used for chopping veggies and grinding nuts or seeds into a powder form. If you want more recipes click here. The Vitamix is a bit pricey, but I have to say that my mom and I have used this blender more times then any other blender that we’ve ever had. The other blenders end up braking or don’t have enough power, but the Vitamix is strong enough, never once broke or malfunctioned, and it much easier to clean in my opinion.

My suggestions is that if you can afford it, then this is a definitely a must in your kitchen. You will not regret it! There are so many options and recipes out there. There are a lot of videos showing many recipes with ONLY using the Vitamix. Having one machine that can do a lot of things is great! You can make from sweet to savory to salty foods in seconds. Best of all, its super easy to clean because it’s all in one machine.

I’m Sick

These past couple of days my brother then my mom have been sick. Their throats have been feeling scratchy, they have headaches, running nose, coughing, and body ache. It’s the last two weeks of school for me and I’m beginning to feel the same! This is NOT good! I can’t get sick!

Well, I have this thing against doctors, and well, let’s just say that I don’t particularly like them. I prefer taking vitamins and getting better myself. Actually, whenever I get these symptoms, I go the cupboard and I immediately go for two vitamins, Vitamin C and D. When you get, the human body’s immune system is weakened and in order to strength it you need to take A LOT of vitamins. On a daily basis, I take 2 tablets of Vitamin C in the morning and 2 tablets of Vitamin D at night. They both are very important and extremely beneficial. Actually, most people who get their blood test results they have Vitamin C and D deficiencies.

Anyways, whenever anyone in my family or I get sick, we take 5 tablets of Vitamin C and after 15-30mins we take 5 Vitamin D. This many seems a lot but these two vitamins work really well together and strengths the immune system. In 3 days your cold or flue should be cured. If not, then that probably means that you have an infection and that’s when you HAVE to go to the doctor. I have been doing this for quite some time and it I haven’t been to the doctors for the past 2-3 years. If you want my personal opinion, well this stuff REALLY WORKS!

There are a lot  different brands out there for vitamins, and most of them are fake. We get all of our vitamins and supplements from Beyond Health, and they are great!

Midnight Snack!

Hey guys, and I know its passed midnight but if you’re anything like me than you like to do all of your work at night and you are always looking for a midnight snack. Am I right? Well this is a bad habit of mine but I am the type of person that can either work efficiently in the library or late at night. At night, I ALWAYS get hungry, especially when I am studying.

My first instinct is to go the fridge and I have just stare at the stuff inside. Hoping that something magical will happen and a snack will be made itself. C’mon, I can’t be the only that does this?

The Midnight Snack (8)

Anyways,  I crave for some instant junk food at night. However, I know very well that eating junk food at night is very unhealthy. It can eventually lead to diabetes, obesity and other diseases in the future as well. There are also ways to stop yourself from eating junk food at night. One of which is self control, and of course, look for a healthier alternative.

Whenever I want a light midnight snack I make myself  this banana peanut butter and chocolate thing. I’m sorry, it doesn’t have a name but feel free for leave suggestions! I actually came upon this when I was watching a youtube video. I had all supplies at home and so I gave it a try. It turned out AMAZING! It totally hits the spot!

  • Bananas
  • Peanut Butter (you can also use Nutella)
  • Mini Chocolate Chips (I used semi sweet but you can use whatever you like)

(Everything I used was organic. I made a lot of these that it ran out so before I could take a picture of the brand I used they were thrown away. Sorry!)

First, you just slice the bananas in circles and it can be however think you want it. Then spread a little of the peanut butter on the banana sliced and top with the mini chocolate chips! Viola you snack is complete and ready to eat! It should look something like this:

I am telling you that this is really delicious! It is way healthier then junk food, doesn’t take ling at all to make and there are only three ingredients! I bet you probably have all of these in your kitchen right now. So after you’re done reading this post go and try to make some of this deliciousness.

Green Tea!

Hello everyone! I know it has been raining all day, but I love this kind of weather. I find it very relaxing and calming. Werid? Maybe, but what can I say. Actually, one of my favorite things to do in this type of chilly and rainy weather and to sip some green tea.

I LOVE Green Tea. It is so much healthier then coffee or tea and it had many health benefits! My favorite is drinking the lemon-flavored Green Tea with honey. Honey is healthier than sugar and I feel that it takes the flavor of the Green Tea to a whole new level.  My favorite brand Celestial. It can be found in your local whole foods store or if you want buy it online then click here. The one below already had the honey added so you don’t have to add more honey unless you want to.

I drink green almost every day. Actually after every meal, I wait 15 to 30 minuets and I make myself a hot cup of greet tea. One box usually lasts me one month. Why? Well, Green Tea is an antioxidant and it also help with increasing your metabolism. So, if you drink it after every meal, it will help you digest your food faster. In simpler terms: IT HELPS YOU LOOSE WEIGHT!!!  Yes, I just said it. I know, its magical, but its healthy and it works. What else can you possible ask for!

Benefits of Green Tea:

  • Green tea increases the metabolism.
  • Green tea apparently helps regulate glucose levels slowing the rise of blood sugar after eating.
  • Green tea works on the lining of blood vessels, helping keep them stay relaxed and better able to withstand changes in blood pressure.
  • It can reduce the risk of esophageal cancer, but it is also widely thought to kill cancer cells in general without damaging the healthy tissue around them.
  •  Green tea reduces bad cholesterol in the blood and improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.
  • It is said to delay the deterioration caused by Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
  • Regular consumption of green tea is thought to reduce the risk of high blood pressure.
  • It helps with alleviating depression.
  • Green tea can apparently also help with wrinkles and the signs of aging.

Definitely give this a try! It really is great tasting and help in more ways than one. You have to try this to find out the magic that it does! And, if you don’t like this particular flavor, then go and explore then different flavors and try them out. See which ones you like and stick with that. That is the best way to start!

A quick quiz!

Take a Break!

Hey guys! You know, staying healthy and working out sometimes can get annoying. I mean, don’t you just want to eat and watch Netflix? Well, I don’t know about you, but I would LOVE to do just that! Actually, trying to stay healthy can take a lot out from a person, and it’s totally fine to take a break once in a while. It’s ok to eat out or just order some pizza, and have a fun night with some family and friends!

As for me, I have two younger sisters. We are ten to 10-11 years apart. Sometimes, I feel like they are also working really hard, whether it’s for school or extracurricular activities. I tell my sisters that they should have  something to look forward to when they are doing their homework. Everything should be done in moderation. In my case, I plan a movie night every month for my sisters and I. We either make or order pizza, have chips, and sometimes make s’mores! Of course, they have to finish their homework and get good grades, but at least they have something to look forward to. I guess you can think of it as a reward. I reward my sisters and I with a movie night every month! Yes, I reward myself too.

Frankly, I also look forward to these nights. I am a 90’s kids, so the shows or the movies that I’ve watched, my sisters haven’t even heard of them. So, I introduce it to them and so far, they’ve enjoy it! After the movie night ends, we start planning for the next one immediately. This keeps my sisters excited for next time!

The point of this wasn’t to bore you, but instead, I want to make a point. After some hard work, it is good to reward yourself. You may not realize it, but your mind and body will also be grateful. A reward is only meaningful when you your truly deserve it and that is the best feeling one can get. Whether your workout or pig out, remember, everything is always better in moderation.

My secret to a Flat Belly!

Hey guys! I know, today is the last day of our spring break and tomorrow is our first day back to school. Was it just me or did that break just fly by? Anyways, I am ready for the warm weather, this cold is getting old. And today, I am here to share one of my workout secrets with you!

I know there is still time till Summer, but hey, I like to get an early start! Most people are often uncomfortable with their belly area and when Summer comes around, everyone wants a flat belly immediately! Well, I’m sorry to say, there are no shortcuts to having a fit body. Like I said earlier, being consistent is key if you want to see results.

In order to achieve a flat belly, my secret is doing the following workouts: 30 sec Mountain Climbers, 30 sec Planks, and 30 sec Burpees, for a total of 5 mins with a 30 sec rest time between each set.

The first time I did these exercises, well this is how it went….

the Plank

After the first couple of times, I finally got into my routine, but let me warn you. After the first set of these exercises, you will be VERY sore the next morning. This is a very good thing actually. If you’re sore, that means you did the workouts correctly, and id you didn’t then something went wrong. No pain, no gain, am I right?

If you aren’t familiar with the exercises that I mentioned, just keep scrolling down.

Below is an image that explains the how to position your body correctly in order to do a correct Mountain Climber. In order to see best results, I suggest you do this exercise really fast, but remember to gradually increase your reps (repetition). You don’t want to start out hard and tire/hurt your body. Do these workouts slowly and build your stamina, because everyone’s body is different.

Planks were the hardest workout for me, and the most painful. Immediately, you can feel your thighs, abs, and your arms at work. It is crucial to keep your back parallel to the ground.

Lastly, the Burpees.  After doing the last two exercises, your body is probably warming up and your heart rate is increasing. At this moment, the Burpees are probably the hardest workout to do. Below you can see at step 7, the trainer is jumping straight up. If you are a beginner, you do not have to do this step. You can just stand up straight and continue with the rest of the steps. The jump is a bit more advanced but it is really effective for achieving a flat belly.

Alright folks, these were my tricks and tips for achieving a flat belly. Well, it’s about time for my own workout. I should get started. I hope these workouts give you great results, but keep in mind, “BE CONSISTENT!”
